ABOUT THE ARTISTS Jacob Kyle is a Texas-based singer/songwriter with over a decade of live performance experience across the state. His music blends the sounds of traditional Texas blues with honky-tonk, jazz, and songwriter-driven influences. He is recognized for his signature slide guitar style, which plays a central role in his sound. Over the years, Kyle has performed in some of the most iconic venues, theaters, bars, and honky-tonks throughout Texas. Kyle’s songwriting is rooted in the blues, focusing on everyday struggles and personal reflection shaped by lived experience. His self-produced debut album, Lonesome Valley, was released in 2025. He is currently working on his second album in downtown San Antonio while continuing to perform across the region.

Moderated by Bria Woods, this thoughtfully curated panel brings together acclaimed musicians, the Peterson Brothers and Nicky Diamonds, as well as two time Grammy Nominated musician/historian Colin Hancock for a candid discussion on the evolution of blues, its deep roots in Texas, and its relevance in today’s music landscape. Guests are invited to arrive early and enjoy bar service in the Studio Lounge before the discussion begins, creating a relaxed atmosphere to settle in before the conversation starts. Set within the newly unveiled Studio Lounge, this listening-focused experience invites guests to slow down and engage—offering a rare opportunity to hear directly from artists as they reflect on discovering Robert Johnson’s music, its influence on their craft, and the significance of performing in a place so deeply tied to American music history. The evening will feature a curated vinyl set of Robert Johnson and classic blues by our Vinyl Ambassadors, Gibby Diaz & Nicholas Sabala setting the tone as guests gather over signature Robert Johnson-inspired cocktails, along with complimentary birthday cake and coffee served while supplies last. The program continues with a live original poem by Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson, written specifically for this occasion, followed by a crowd-led rendition of “Happy Birthday” in honor of Johnson’s legacy. Guests are invited to stay, connect, and celebrate as we come together to honor one of the most influential figures in music history — with vinyl records and commemorative posters available for purchase throughout the evening. ____ ABOUT THE ARTISTS Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson is a San Antonio native and a Poet Laureate Emeritus of San Antonio, TX. 2020-2023. Her dynamic style’s a fusion of: poetry, hip hop and Rhythm & Blues. She is an award-winning voice actress and teaching artist that enjoys facilitating workshops all over the nation. She has written commissioned works and opened up for Nikki Giovanni, Dr. Cornel West, and Phylicia Rashad. Vocab has authored two published books and is featured in numerous anthologies. A PushcartNominee, some of her awards include: Dream Voice 2018 awarded by The Dream Week Commission, The Arts and Letters Award, 2020, Impact Award 2023, Literary Excellence Award 2024 by Gemini Ink. Best Local Poet 2024, 2023, and 2021, by the San Antonio Current. In 2021, she received an Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellowship for her legacy project The Echo Project, which featured on KLRN. Her albums are available for streaming on all music platforms including: She Tastes Like Music, The Elevated EP, The Reach, Queendom Come. In 2022 & 2023, she received Creation Fund grants from National Performance Network for her theatre production with Lubana Al-Quntar entitled, The Seasoned Woman, a production co-commissioned by The Carver and Art2Action. Vocab has collaborated with Centro San Antonio with the public art pieces of poetry: Elevated Melanin, a tribute to that piece is located in Peacock Alley and more recently Permission to Play, a multidisciplinary mural featuring the art of Barbara Felix located on Commerce Street, in downtown San Antonio and The San Antonio International Airport and Suds to Salvation in the Presence of the Past on San Pedro Creek. Gibby Diaz, Vinyl Ambassador of The Gunter Hotel DJ Gibb is a Texas-based DJ, music curator, and lifelong record collector whose journey through music spans more than 25 years in the music industry. With roots in legendary retail spaces like Tower Records, and Hogwild Records he sharpened his ear as a music buyer, developing a deep, crate-digger’s instinct for albums and hidden gems. His voice has been on the airwaves as an on-air host at Trinity University KRTU 91.7 FM, where he produced and hosted his own show "The Cool Out." Known across Texas for his DJ sets, DJ Gibb blends genres with precision and accuracy. In 2009, his technical skill and creativity earned him top honors as the winner of the Scratch Academy competition in NYC. Today DJ Gibb continues to DJ in the local San Antonio area and serves as the Gunter Hotel's Vinyl Ambassador. Nicholas Sabala, Vinyl Ambassador of The Gunter Hotel Nicolas Sabala is a lifelong musician and passionate record collector, whose journey began at the age of 8. Self-taught on drums, bass guitar, and electric guitar, he later expanded his talents to become a skilled vinyl record collector and DJ. After serving in the US Navy, Nicolas pursued his love for music by earning an associate's degree in music business from San Antonio College. During his studies, he gained invaluable experience interning at StudioE Recording Studio and Texas Public Radio. He also worked at Friends of Sound Records and Magnetic Recordings. These roles provided him with a deep understanding of the record industry and music publishing.

Their musical journey began with a garage sale turntable and a collection of classic records gifted by their family, sparking a lifelong passion for music. Influenced by legends like The Isley Brothers, Earth, Wind & Fire, and B.B. King, they’ve developed an energetic and soulful sound rooted in tradition. They’ve shared the stage with icons including Gary Clark Jr., Willie Nelson, Buddy Guy, and The Roots. Known for their high-energy performances, the brothers bring undeniable chemistry, tight musicianship, and infectious joy to every show. As modern torchbearers of classic American music, they continue to leave a lasting impression on audiences everywhere. Nicky Diamonds Nicky Diamonds is an Afro-Indigenous Country-Roots/Blues Musician from San Antone, TX currently stationed in Nashville, TN. Pulling inspiration from old hymn books and family history, he's recounting the stories of his ancestors through his unique songwriting style. By keeping the roots of country and blues alive he puts a captivating twist to the tales and tunes of our people. Nicky spends most of his time touring the country with his 95 year old Dobro and occasionally with his band 'The Deepcuts'. His new delta blues album, recorded at Willie Nelson's studio in Spicewood, Texas, is set to release in Spring 2025. If you're lucky enough, you'll catch Nicky at a Honky Tonk or Juke Joint close to home. His live show is a sight to see and you'll leave with a groove stuck in your bones. Sue Folley Sue Foley is a multi-award-winning blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose latest album, One Guitar Woman: A Tribute to the Female Pioneers of Guitar, was nominated for the 2025 GRAMMY® Award for Best Traditional Blues Album. Known for her fiery playing and soulful voice, Foley blends Texas blues grit with refined fingerstyle technique, whether on her signature pink paisley Fender Telecaster or a hand-built flamenco guitar. Born in Ottawa, Canada, Foley began performing professionally at 16 and made her mark in Austin, Texas, with the legendary Antone’s label. Since her 1992 debut Young Girl Blues, she’s toured internationally, sharing stages with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and Billy F Gibbons. Foley is a five-time consecutive Blues Music Award winner for Traditional Blues Female Artist (2020–2025) and a recipient of multiple other honors, including a JUNO Award and the 2024 Maple Blues Lifetime Achievement Award. A passionate scholar as well as a performer, Foley holds a PhD in Musicology and will release her first book, Guitar Women, in 2026. As the Philadelphia Inquirer wrote, “Foley has a killer voice, an impossibly alluring blend of sex and innocence to go with those blazing guitar chops.” With One Guitar Woman, she reclaims history and redefines what a guitar hero can be.

ABOUT THE ARTIST The Chris Cuevas Project is an uptempo and energetic blend of blues, funk, soul, and jazz music. They write and perform their own original music as well as cover music within those same genres. The band will take you on a musical roller coaster, seamlessly moving in and out of various musical styles. They have opened for iconic artists such as Marcia Ball, Southern Avenue and most recently Styx at The Majestic Theater in San Antonio, TX.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS Texas native Eve Monsees has been a fixture on the Austin music scene for over 25 years. Along with fellow guitarist and neighbor Gary Clark Jr, the two cut their teeth playing Blues together throughout their teenage years. Eve has received “Best Guitarist” honors in the prestigious Austin Music Awards and was recently recognized by the City of Austin with a proclamation declaring March 30, 2026 as Eve Monsees Day. She has appeared on Austin City Limits alongside Gary Clark Jr. and with the Antone’s 50th AllStars. She has toured throughout the US and Europe but maintains deep ties to the local Austin scene. As members of the Antone’s House Band, she and musical partner / drummer Mike Buck are often called upon to back up touring artists and Blues musicians at the legendary Antone’s Nightclub. They also play together with legendary roots rockers the LeRoi Brothers, a band which Mike co-founded. Eve plays with the Bluebonnets, alongside Kathy Valentine, Dominique Davalos & Kristy McInnis. Loud and rockin, this all female group has toured throughout the US and UK. Time off stage is typically spent at Antone’s Record Shop, a legendary shop that has been in operation since 1987 that Eve & Mike own. Eve is also Vice President of the Austin based non-profit HOME which provides housing support for older Austin musicians. Living in Austin has allowed Eve & Mike to surround themselves with all aspects of music and they are proud to be such an integral part of that vibrant community.
